Chapter Three

As always, it was a busy day at work; endless customers placing their orders and me having to keep up with them. I also have to be careful not to bake the wrong cake. But I have loved baking since childhood, so I never got tired of my job. While returning home in the evening, I decided to stop by Autumn's house. I have known Autumn since the beginning of time. We went to junior school together, and I have known her ever since. She lives just a few blocks away from my house. "Alex, hi, it's so good to see you," she hugged me. We chatted for a while before my eyes went towards something on the wall. It was the same old man from the poster. It was surprising how I had been in Autumn's house so many times, but I had never noticed the picture on the wall. I became speechless and quite scared. Autumn noticed me looking at the poster and said, "That's my grandfather. He passed away a long time ago." When I told Autumn about the poster and blood mark, she hesitated and asked me not to tell anyone I saw his picture in her house. This raised even more questions in my mind. But since Autumn was my best friend, I agreed to keep my mouth shut.

While I was about to return home from Autumn's house, I spotted a shadow of what seemed like a person behind her house. Although it quickly disappeared, I was sure someone was hiding behind her house. But I was drained, so I decided not to check and returned home.
